Biography

Jason Margolesky, MD, FAAN, is an Associate Professor of Clinical Neurology in the Movement Disorders Division at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, where he also serves as Director of the Neurology Residency Program, Vice Chair for Education, Founder/Director of the Interdisciplinary Functional Movement Disorders Clinic, and Co-director of the Wilson Disease Association Center of Excellence.

A Miami native, Dr. Margolesky earned his B.S. in Neuroscience and Behavioral Biology from Emory University, followed by a master’s in Physiology and Biophysics at Georgetown University. He completed medical school (AOA honors), neurology residency (Chief Resident), and a Movement Disorders fellowship at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital

Board-certified in Neurology by the ABPN, he is a Fellow of the American Academy of Neurology and an active member in the Movement Disorders Society, Functional Movement Disorders Study Group, and MDSGene work group. He leads and collaborates on clinical trials and research studies and has received multiple teaching awards.

His clinical interests include functional movement disorders, childhood and young-onset movement disorders (Wilson’s disease, Tourette syndrome, dystonia),Parkinson’s disease, atypical parkinsonism, essential tremor, Huntington disease, ataxia, tardive syndromes, botulinum toxin injection, and deep brain stimulation.
